Dr. Georgios Gardikis
Dr. Georgios Gardikis received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2000 and his PhD from the same Institute in 2004. His expertise lies in the field of broadband wireless networking and multimedia delivery systems, specialising in quality-of-experience assessment and broadband IP communications over digital interactive broadcasting platforms. Since 2004, Dr. Gardikis has been collaborating with the National Center of Scientific Research “Demokritos” and the Centre for Technological research of Crete in the frame of national and EU-funded R&D projects, among which is the IST-2004-FP6-027457 “IMOSAN”, where Dr. Gardikis was the technical coordinator. At present, he is Associate Researcher in Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications in the NCSR "Demokritos" and Visiting Assistant Professor at Dept. of Applied Informatics and Multimedia, at TEI of Crete. He is active in supervising BSc, MSc and PhD theses within the fields of broadband networking systems, interactive applications and services, as well as in the area of Future Internet Content Aware Networks. He is Member of the IEEE/Communications and Broadcast Technology Societies, Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001, and Reviewer in selected international scientific journals. He has more than 40 publications in international journals and refereed conferences/workshops.
