Evangelos Markakis
Evangelos Markakis was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1980. He received his four-year diploma in Applied Informatics & Multimedia from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece, in 2003 and his MSc in Data Communication Systems from Brunel University in 2005. Since 2008 he is a Ph.D. candidate with the University of the Aegean, Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering.
He joined Research & Development of Telecommunications Systems Laboratory at Technological Educational Institute of Crete and Centre for Technological Research of Crete in 2001. He has actively participated in several EU funded projects (IST-2001-34692 "REPOSIT", IST-2002-FP6-507312 "ATHENA", IST-2004-FP6-027457 "IMOSAN") and a large
number of national research projects funded by GSRT (General Secretariat for Research & Technology of Greece). His current research activities include Interactive Digital Television (DVB), Next Generation Networks, Satellite Communications, Network Design and IT services
