Assist. Prof. Evangelos Pallis

Dr. Evangelos Pallis holds a B.Eng. in Electronics from TEI of Crete (1996), an MSc in Telecommunications from the University of East London (1997) and a PhD in Telecommunications from the University of East London (2002). Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Informatics and Multimedia department (AIM), of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete (TEIC) and co-director of Research and Development of Telecommunications Systems laboratory (PASIPHAE), as well as associate researcher in the Centre for Technological Research of Crete (CTRC) and the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT) in the NCSR Demokritos. His research interests are in the fields of wireless broadband systems and mobile telecommunication technologies, linear and interactive broadcasting, network management and QoS, as well as in interactive multimedia. He has supervised more than 40 successfully completed theses, including 6 MSc and 1 PhD (as member of the Supervisory and Advisory committees). Today, he is supervising 6 PhDs, 3 of which are carried out with the PASIPHAE lab. He has participated in a number of National and EU-funded R&D projects, including the AC215 “CRABS”, IST-2000-26298 "MAMBO", IST-2000-28521 "SOQUET", IST-2001-34692 “REPOSIT”, IST-2002-FP6-507637 “ENTHRONE”, “IMOSAN”, FP7- 214751 “ADAMANTIUM”, and as Technical Manager for the IST-2002-FP6-507312 “ATHENA” project. Currently he is involved within the, FP7-ICT-224287 “VITAL++” and ICT/FP7-248652 “ALICANTE” projects. He has more than 50 publications in international referred journals, conference and workshop proceedings, he is member of the IEE/IET and honored-member of the “Union of Regional Televisions of Greece”.
